On October 7, the first group of future airline pilots started training at the Airhub Training aviation training center in Vilnius. After successfully passed the assessment, seven students started ATP(A) integrated study program, which takes just over two years.
“The first group of students in the ATP(A) integrated training program marks a significant milestone for our aviation training center. Although the pandemic slowed down our plans, we did not stop. Therefore, today we welcome the first group of aspiring pilots”, said Ruta Kulvinskaite, Airhub Training CEO. She added: “We are proud to offer our students high-quality training, instructors with many years of aviation training experience, as well as new modern training equipment.”
Airline Transport Pilot License Integrated ATP(A) is a comprehensive training program for aspiring pilots. No previous aviation experience is needed. The ATP(A) integrated training program approved by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) consists of theoretical and practical training. Airhub Training students will gain theoretical knowledge and flight training in a modern flight simulator and fleet consisting of new Diamond DA-40 and Diamond DA-42 aircraft.
Located at a convenient location near the Vilnius International Airport, the training center is able to offer flight training at Vilnius International Airport, where future airline pilots will get acquainted with the international airport environment, procedures, and communication from day one.
The ATP(A) integrated training program is the shortest way for aspiring pilots to achieve their dream job. Meanwhile, it is beneficial for airlines too. Therefore, students who have completed the training program and obtained a commercial pilot license will work as the first officers at GetJet Airlines, a Lithuanian charter company providing charter flights and ACMI services.
According to Darius Viltrakis, GetJet Airlines CEO, the pandemic-stricken aviation market is showing signs of recovery. With the increasing flight number, aircraft will have to be managed by pilots, and the market will face great demand for new pilots in the next few years. Therefore, now is the best time to start training: “We believe that aspiring pilots starting their training will have excellent opportunities to enter the active aviation labor market.”
Applications for the second group, which will start in January, are already open. Details are available at the airhub.aero website.
Airhub Training is an aviation training center established in 2019. Located in Vilnius, the training center provides aviation EASA approved training programs for aspiring pilots and advanced training for those who already own a pilot license.
GetJet Airlines is a Lithuanian airline company, providing ACMI and charter services since 2016. GetJet Airlines operates a fleet consisting of young Airbus A320, A319 and A330 type aircraft.
